Sometimes it happens that a magazine published on a hundred pages has the same amount of readers. Neither good paper, nor bright illustrations, nor a low price can attract a reader if there is nothing else beyond them. This is why we always look for “something else”, scrupulously selecting material for every issue of the magazine.

Information for everybody means that every reader has to find something interesting for himself or herself.
Information about everything means that the selection of news has to satisfy “the appetite” of a modern reader.

RussianTown” is not a specialized publication devoted to a certain field. Working on the concept of our magazine we drew the following conclusion: To make the magazine popular, it’s necessary to be a sportsman and a politician, a musician and an artist, an idealist and a realist, a man and a woman, a businessman and a housewife; that is, it’s necessary to represent each of the 20,000 Russian-speaking residents of the southeastern United States. Only in this way can the magazine become an eagerly anticipated event every month of every year.

We achieved a very positive result. In its existence “RussianTown” has gained popularity among all Russian speakers of the southeast.

What’s even more important, the magazine has the reputation of a publication that pays a lot of attention to its readers. We present various kinds of information targeting every member of the community.

The section headings of our magazine interpret topics that can be anything but boring. In case you are not familiar with “RussianTown” yet, let us introduce some of these sections.

Our section headings

The news: Traditional and up-to-date at the same time, our news section is the base of every issue of the magazine. Our surveys show that every reader opening a publication wants to find out what’s going on in the world. The structure of any mass medium is based on this interest. We are aware of the fact that our readers are politically well-rounded and inquisitive people. This is why we prepare this section very thoroughly trying to present all the world events.

Politics: Nowadays it’s almost impossible to meet a person who is not interested in politics. Our readers definitely are no different. Sociologists state that politics is a kind of art. We assume that it’s the art of being politically well-rounded. Being informed today gives us confidence in the future.

Issues: If there is an issue that excites and interests you, as well as your friends, neighbors, and co-workers, this issue is worth discussing and addressing. Our analytical department offers such information to our readers in a timely manner.

Education: Under this heading you can find information about different educational institutions. We want to help you to make a decision as to where you or your children should get your education. This is why we supply the following information about schools: tuition fees charged, classes offered, degrees assigned, and employment assistance provided. You need this data if you are either a student or a student’s parent.

Interviews: This section offers you interviews with people representing different fields of work. You can meet politicians, actors, artists, businessmen, doctors and people of many other professions on our pages. We also send our special correspondents to various press conferences so that they could deliver first-hand information to our readers.

Stars: People have been fascinated with the stars since the dawn of civilization. Some people are even able to interpret information sent by the stars; in other words, they can make astrological forecasts. Some look at astrology with skepticism or humor, others follow predictions of the stars scrupulously; either way, our “Stars” don’t leave anybody indifferent.

Family Reading: The material presented under this heading always gets attention from our readers. We place a lot of fiction on our pages to facilitate the process of preserving the Russian language the easiest and most pleasant way – with the help of literature. Fiction can often open discussions on very important issues concerning the relationship between a man and a woman, a husband and a wife, parents and children. Whether or not you can preserve a family often depends on a correct and timely-made decision or compromise. We hope our readers will find this section very useful and informative.

Our Children: It doesn’t matter if our children are little or grown up, naughty or obedient. We still have to take care of them every day. To help both parents and kids “RussianTown” provides a “child corner”. It offers information about sports clubs, playgrounds and cafes for kids, and different activities that can make your child’s life more interesting. In addition, you can find articles written by teachers and psychologists and also interviews with parents who want to share their knowledge and experience in raising kids. We are looking for ways to help our children find their place in life, since their future depends entirely on us as their parents and older friends.

Discovery: The name of this section speaks for itself. We introduce our readers to the latest discoveries in medicine, computer technology, and other sciences. Yet, we don’t limit ourselves to just describing the discovery itself. Discoveries are made by people. A person who gave the world something new and valuable deserves all of our attention and admiration. The heroes you’ll meet under our “Discovery” heading live in different parts of the world, but where they live doesn’t really matter. Our readers are equally curious to find out about a creator of a computer program from Kostroma and a young sportsman from New Guinea.

A Free Minute: We want our magazine to become your friend and partner. That’s why along with the serious material in the above-mentioned sections we also have a fun section that helps you to relax and takes your mind off life’s problems. We offer our readers crossword puzzles and funny stories. The laughter and good humor under this heading can become a pleasant addition to your lunch break or to a quiet family evening after a hard day at work.
Besides, it’s just a good tradition that was started by previous publications for Russian speakers living in America.
We support this tradition.
We want you to smile.

Let’s Speak English: Every Russian-speaking resident of America knows how important it is to master the English language. Very often your career depends entirely on this knowledge.
Building conversation and vocabulary skills on a regular basis has become natural for every Russian speaker wanting to improve their English. In answer to our readers’ numerous requests, we have introduced English lessons in our magazine conducted by a famous teacher, Rachel Lekherzak. These lessons are as free as the “RussianTown” magazine itself, and as integral a part of the magazine as any other section.

As you can see from everything mentioned above, our goal is to satisfy every Russian-speaking reader of the magazine.
We are proud of the fact that all the material in “RussianTown” can be called exclusive: We cooperate with the authors whose articles are written specially for you, our readers. These authors’ enthusiasm, talent and diligence allow them to achieve really great results. All of them support the idea of keeping and developing the Russian culture on the territory of another country. Because they are familiar with the Russian mentality, they can describe and analyze events for our readers better than anybody else.
Some of the material is sent to us from overseas. Our authors living in Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Australia, and many other countries help the Russian speakers of America to be aware of events taking place in the Russian communities of these countries. The idea of cooperation works in spite of the differences in time and distance.
It’s not a surprise that businessmen living in different parts of the world want to cooperate with the Russian-speaking population of Georgia, Florida, and the entire southeastern region. “RussianTown” magazine functions as a free outlet and connection for the Russian-speaking businessmen of the southeast.
Without a doubt, “RussianTown” monopolizes the majority of the market. Of course, we don’t cover the needs of the whole region, but we certainly cover the needs of the Russian-speaking community.
We work for you with enthusiasm and are very grateful for your attention.
